DIY Lace Centerpieces Help Keep Down Wedding Decor Costs

Title photo by Rob Brinson for BHG

Decoupaging old vases with pieces of lace or lace edging can turn an inexpensive vase into a WOW centerpiece.  This DIY project uses Modge Podge, pieces of lace or lace edging, and an old vase (or one from your local Dollar Store).

For specific directions and more photos go to Urban Comfort's web site although I suspect if you are an experienced crafter you've already figured out just how to make these (and possibly even improve on them!)

Consider using the same process to make napkin rings to pull together the feminine look of the table decor.  I just love it when a craft project brings everything together!

Breathtaking Flower Arrangement by Eddie Ross

Design blog Eddie Ross always makes me stop and rethink color combinations, whether it's flowers or interior design elements. Eddie is the king of combining the unusual to make a stunning room or in this case, centerpiece. This muted rose centerpiece with hydrangeas in a round vase took my breath away. It's not loud, it doesn't shout, it just makes me feel good. Eddie Ross, a designer for my soul.  Visit Eddie Ross for more design ideas.

Above: Eddie Ross takes pinecones, adds some home made leaves, and decorated his vase with some satin and velvet ribbons to produce a centerpiece that is both inexpensive and easy to make ahead of time.  No worry about wilting here!

Tulips on Your Tables

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. Tulips offer the bride a large selection of color combinations to choose from and for a bride planning a Easter season wedding this photo offers great inspiration.  The combination of basketry, flowers, and jelly beans as well as tiny carrots make this a WOW table design.  This photo is from Wedding High with directions from Bridal Party Tees.

DIY (Do It Yourself) Soft Spring Bouquet

This soft and beautiful DIY spring bouquet works with a varitey of color schemes. I fell in love with the beauty of these flowers...not fancy, not a giant bouquet, but soft and spring-like! Sometimes simple is better.

Creative Candlelight For Your Wedding

Let there be light! Having an outdoor reception and looking for some unique lanterns or centerpieces? Try these centerpieces by Donna Hay.  Don't worry about buying new graters, but hit thrift stores and garage sales for the best buys and then buy some pretty pastel color spray paint.  Add your candles underneath (or even battery operated lighting) and you'll have pretty flickering light that twinkles through the designs in the grater.  Pretty and inexpensive.  And you know me, I love DIY projects that are EASY. The hardest part of this project is choosing what color paint to use!
